Olney, MD Dentist
Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with effective and efficient modern technologies. We provide you with excellent quality modern dentistry that is designed with your health and comfort as our top priority.
We use digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras, the i-CAT image scanner, and more, based on your individual dental health needs.
We also utilize paperless charting and electronic dental records to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Our advanced digital X-rays magnify and enhance images of your teeth for better diagnosis and treatment. This digital X-ray allows us to take an image of your teeth and put it into an imaging program.
With this program, we are able to use a number of tools that will allow us to take a closer look at your teeth and surrounding structures with remarkable accuracy. Digital X-rays can give us the information we need to more effectively plan your treatment. Typically, these X-rays are taken before treatment begins, but we may take additional X-rays during and after treatment in order to chart your progress.
Digital X-rays also require much less radiation than traditional film X-rays. Digital X-rays are safe, effective, fast and informative.
The intraoral camera is a small diagnostic tool, about the size of a pen, that can be used to view the inside of your mouth. You can view what we see with the intraoral camera on the monitors in each operatory.
Because of it’s small design, the intraoral camera is able to gain access to parts of your mouth that can be difficult to see with the naked eye, reflective mirror, or even x-ray. Using this technology, we are able to inspect a magnified view of your entire mouth on a high definition screen, which can be invaluable for early detection of oral health issues.
i-Cat Cone Beam Imaging
Cone Beam imaging is an advanced form of digital radiography. With the cone beam imager, one simple scan will produce a 3D image of your entire maxillofacial structure. It allows Dr. Doring to see the most detailed 3 dimensional images of your jaw, teeth and all associated structures. This image can then be used in diagnostics, patient education, treatment planning, and treatment follow-up.
The cone beam provides an effective solution to create quick, clear, precise images for your benefit. Additionally, the cone beam uses minimal radiation in scanning and is a much less-invasive process than other forms of imaging. This makes the cone beam a great choice for patients with dental anxiety or a sensitive gag reflex.
By utilizing advanced technologies like the cone beam, we are able to provide an effective, efficient, and comfortable patient experience for you on every visit.
We utilize a laser that can be used in several dental procedures. Symmetrical, proportional gums are essential components in a confident smile. If your gums are uneven, too short or too prominent, we offer a variety of periodontal cosmetic procedures that can give you a balanced smile.
Crown lengthening can be used for aesthetic or functional purposes. For patients with a “gummy” smile, crown lengthening can reveal more of the tooth by recontouring or reshaping the gums.
In some instances, the tooth may be broken near the gum line, but may require a restoration. In this case, we may recommend crown lengthening to reveal more of the tooth allowing for secure placement of the restoration.
Changing the appearance of your gums can cosmetically enhance your smile. Non-surgical periodontal treatment can make replacement teeth look more natural and improve the appearance of your teeth. For more information, please contact us.
